Bad Thoughts

In my previous post I talked a little about what is Good and what is Bad. As I mentioned these topics are very complex. The "Good"/Positive and "Bad"/Negative can be related to many different spiritual concepts. Today I want to focus on our thoughts and what makes them Positive or Negative.

The first thing that you need to know is that if you think something you might as well say it, the impact to your spirit is the same. Despite what we've been told since child hood the "if you can't think of anything good to say, say nothing at all" does not protect us. That fact is that as soon as you think something the energy form around that thought is created: good or bad.

Our negative thoughts are one of the hardest things to control. Thoughts just seem to jump into our heads before we know what has happened. So, how do we protect ourselves from our own negative thoughts? After the fact there is little you can do about. Sooner or later the thought will come back to you and you'll be forced to deal with them. What you can do is when you have a negative thought, identify it as a negative and unacceptable thought. After a while of identifying thoughts as not acceptable the number of negative thoughts that you have will reduce. The only way to protect yourself from negative thoughts is to not have them.

The important thing to note here is that you can only deal with the negative thoughts that you identify as negative. The biggest negative thoughts are those that direct negative energy to other (thinking bad about people, regardless of how justified you think you are) and casting judgements (the fact is that most people are not in a position to truly understand where other people are).
